2016 Rules

 

IMPORTANT!!

It is impossible to list all of the modifications or exceptions that may be considered illegal within this rule book. For the purpose of enforcement, only those items listed in the rule book are permissible, unless you have received any written information from Wiscasset Speedway in 2016 that would state otherwise.  It is your responsibility to confirm with Wiscasset Speedway if questions arise. ALL RULES WILL BE ENFORCED.

 

CHANGES & UPDATES:

Any rule changes made by Wiscasset Speedway will be in written format and placed in the Wiscasset Speedway Go-Kart rule book and online at www.wiscassetgokarts.wix.com/wiscassetgokarts.  Wiscasset Speedway reserves the right to change, modify and regulate all rules as needed or deemed necessary for a fair and safe race event.

 

AGE DETERMINATION:

All ages are determined as of January 1st, 2016. Ages may be adjusted due to experience and ability if deemed necessary by Wiscasset Speedway staff and management.

 

GENERAL TRACK RULES:

1. There will be NO alcohol allowed at Wiscasset Speedway during any event.

2. Violence will not be tolerated whatsoever and will result in suspension from that or all events at Wiscasset Speedway.

3. Adults will not approach any child in a threatening manner! (If there is a problem you are to talk to a track official)

 

DRIVER SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

All drivers must wear the following required items at all times while on the racing surface. 

1. One or two piece long sleeve SFI approved fire resistant suit in good condition and free of rips, tears or holes.

2. Shoes (No sandals or open toe shoes) and gloves.

3. Snell Foundation approved helmet dated no older than 1995 and in good condition.

4. Face shield, glasses or goggles.

5. Either a Head/Neck restraint system (such as a HANS Device) or a full headrest and neck brace.

 

Highly Recommended not required

1. Fire resistant underwear, socks, and head stocking.
